Struck by the beauty of this cactus bloom in my garden today. Its shape reminds me of a lotus flower – and both cactuses and the lotus are reflected in healing traditions for spiritual and heart centred practices.
In Homeopathy, a medicine made from Cactus grandiflorus, is traditionally used as on organ support for a ‘weakened and painful heart’, and a cardiovascular tonic. It’s often indicated where there is weakness and coldness of the extremities, indicating poor circulation.
The flower essence Lotus is considered helpful in harmonising the heart with deeper consciousness, and especially for integrating spirituality in a balanced way.
